CELEBRATING 50 YEARS

Building our community one donation at a time. You can donate your stamp collection and stamp materials the club will auction them and then donate the proceeds to a common charity of your choice.

Current Club Mission

Our club offers a conduit for like minded people who enjoy talking and collecting stamps, at the same time be an active and an influential member in our community. The community at large benefits by the sales of donated philatelic material, and funds are subsequently accumulated and forwarded to nominated local charitable organizations. Funds raised by our monthly club auctions, private auctions, bourses and other activities. Donors nominate which charitable organization will receive the funds.

Sourcing of stamps and stamp collections

Letters to editors of local newspapers, and philatelic magazines to encourage the public to donate stamp material.

 Many donations are sourced from unwanted material collecting dust and taking up space, by individuals who are not interested in the stamps or collections.

 Club members donate excess and unwanted material.

 Word of mouth and exposure at other venues highlight our organization and activities.

Fees and other costs

Our annual fee charged to members is $30.00 per year.

 Our annual fee for Junior members with their parent(s), is $5.00 per year

 Fees are used to cover costs for hall space and special celebrations in the community.

 Information and demonstrations at various venues

 Minute and information preservation at the Penticton Museum / Archives

 Undertaking the design and issuance by Canada Post of special commemorative postage, cancellations and first day of issue covers. The anniversary of the SS Sicamous docked in Penticton, and the 100 anniversary of the Kettle Valley Railway (KVR), at Summerland.

 In November 2017, a commemorative stamp and cover were created for the 125 th anniversary of St. Savior’s Anglican Church in Penticton.
